The Southern Province has secured first place in Sri Lanka for the 11th consecutive time in the 2024 (2025) GCE Ordinary Level Examination, marking another milestone in its record of academic excellence. A total of 41,909 candidates from the province sat for the examination, with 31,702 qualifying for the GCE Advanced Level—representing 75.64% of those who took the exam. Officials noted that this continued success reflects the dedication of students, teachers, and education authorities in the province.
