Responsibilities of the Administrative Division

  1. Managing daily mail, general administration, and supervision of the division.

  2. Maintaining bulk records and inventory management.

  3. Overseeing the maintenance of electrical systems, elevators, and generators in the building.

  4. Handling property taxes and private security services.

  5. Managing government employee loans.

  6. Maintaining records of officers assigned to this office from other departments for various reasons.

  7. Reviewing all salary conversions and pension files prepared by the division’s officers.

    III. The Provincial Appeals Board

  9. Overseeing institutional affairs of all officers in the education administration service within the Southern Provincial Department of Education, including zonal offices and schools.

  10. Managing performance reports of education administration service officers in the Southern Provincial Department of Education and zonal education offices.

  11. Handling requests related to the coverage of duties of Sri Lanka Education Administrative Service (SLEAS) officers and assigning responsibilities to officers covering administrative positions.

  12. Administering tasks related to contract-based service extensions.

  13. Managing all responsibilities related to issuing tax-free vehicle permits.

  14. Overseeing all institutional matters of officers in the Sri Lanka Teacher Educators’ Service.

  15. Approving proposed programs of coordination officers related to Piriven education.

  16. Updating and maintaining information on approved staff.

  17. Approving daily wage payments for administrative officers in the department and zonal education offices.

  18. Granting approvals for telephone expenses, maintenance, and bill settlements for administrative officers in the education department and zonal education offices.
