• Preparation of long term & short term development plans and investment plans for the province

• Maintain & update Education Management Information System at provincial level.

• School mapping and school network rationalization
  ( පාසල් සිතියම්කරණය හා ව්‍යුහ කටයුතු)
• Assist & direct schools in developing their school plans.
  ( පාසල් හා කලාප මට්ටමේ සැලසුම් සැකසීම සඳහා මඟපෙන්වීම)
• Progress control of projects in the province
  (ප්‍රගති පාලනය සහ නියාමනය)
• Assess the human, building, furniture & equipment requirement and preparing priority list.
  (භෞතික හා මානව සම්පත් අවශ්‍යතා හඳුනාගැනීම සහ ප්‍රමුඛතාකරණය)
• Conduct & monitor the annual census of school.
  ( වාර්ෂික පාසල් සංගණන කටයුතු සම්බන්ධීකරණය)
• Coordinate with NGO and funding agencies.
